Up next for introductions: Keturah! And how fitting, since she's also celebrating her birthday today. Say hello and happy birthday to our lovely new firecracker of an instructor!
Keturah had wanted to try yoga for a few years but could never summon the courage until December of 2010 when just a few stubborn pounds stood between her and making the cut for Navy bootcamp. She was running out of time so off to her first ever yoga class she very nervously went, and darn it all if she didn't instantly fall in love with every aspect of it! She decided right then and there (in Tree Pose, specifically) that she would one day be a yoga teacher and bring the same motivation, inspiration, joy and light to people's lives that her first yoga teacher brought to hers. The opportunity finally presented itself when she found herself with some fantastic military spouse's education benefits burning a hole in her pocket, and with a 6-month-old around, the prospect of a few weekends out of the house sounded like heaven. She completed her 200-hr certification in January 2014 and began teaching right away. She teaches a seriously kick-ass, you-better-have-your-ujjayi-breath-ready, joy-filled class; she'll have you sweating but reward you for your hard work! When she's not teaching yoga she's busy being addicted to running (thank the heavens for hip openers!) and even more busy being mother to the happiest baby yogi ever. Beginning January 12, Keturah will be spending holding it down in Space every Monday, starting with the Big Bang practice at 9:30a, the Gentle Flow practice (suitable for pre-natal) at 11:15a, and the Little-and-Big practice at 5:30p.
